Description Add Target

Targets are the systems you run scans against. They can be URLs, hostnames, or IP addresses. Users can also add multiple targets simultaneously by importing a file in TXT format.

• Target: The system to be scanned, represented as either a domain or an IP address.
• URL: The web address of the target.
• Reputation: Indicates the target's safety or trust rating, which can be Good, Bad, or None.
• Description: A brief explanation or summary of the target.
• Status: Displays the current operational state of the target. An 'Up' status indicates that the target is connected and fully accessible.
  Tip

  To update the target's current status (Up or Down), select the target from the list and click the Check Status button.

• Total Scans: The total number of times the target has been scanned.

Testing Targets

Helium provides a wide selection of pre-configured targets that users can use for testing or scanning. You can utilize the following targets:

Steps Add Target

To add a target for scanning, click the Add button. The following input form will appear:

Follow these steps to add a target:

1. Enter the target in the Target field (this can be a domain or an IP address).

2. Select the scan type based on how the target application is accessed:

   • External Scan

     Allows Helium to perform a security scan from an external or public network.

     Use this option if the target is publicly accessible over the internet.

   • Internal Scan

     Allows Helium to perform a security scan from within a local or internal network.

     Use this option if the target is only accessible via an internal network or VPN.

3. Enter a short description of the target in the Description field (optional).

4. Click the Add button to save the target, or click Cancel to discard the changes.
